Many years later, the first skate park was made in Southern California. Shortly after, the skateboard boom was about to begin. It was thousands of skateparks that were built in the next few years. Now there are more than 2,600 skate parks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, like Tony Hawk, who have brought it to the main stream.
