About
The first skateboarders took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools to mimic the waves of surfing. Not until the 1970’s, the first skateboard park was made in Southern California. No one knew the skateboard park boom was about to begin. Now there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, such as Rob Drydek and Shaun White, who have brought it to the main stream.
