Skateboarding is a great sport. The first skaters took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools to mimic the waves of surfing. The first concrete skateboard park was made in California. Shortly after, the skateboard boom was about to begin. It was thousands of skate parks that were built in the next years. Today, there are 2,600 skateboarding parks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, such as Rob Drydek and Shaun White, who have brought it to the main stream.
