The first skaters rode down hills in Carlsbad, CA with clay wheels to take their surfing to the streets. Many years later, the first concrete skateboard park was made in California. No one knew the skateboard building boom was about to begin. There were a lot of skate parks that were built in the next years. Today, there are 2,600 skateboarding parks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, such as Rob Drydek and Shaun White, who have brought it to the main stream.
