The first skateboarders rode down hills in Carlsbad, CA with clay wheels to mimic the waves of surfing. The first skatepark was made in Southern California. Next the skateboard building boom was about to begin. Now there are 2,600 skate parks in America. The popularity of skateboarding has taken off with the pros, such as Rob Drydek and Shaun White, who have brought it to the main stream.
