Many years later, the first skatepark was made in California. Shortly after, the skateboard park boom was about to begin. There were a lot of skateparks that were built in the next dozen years. Today, there are more than 2,600 skateboarding parks in America. The popularity of skateboarding has taken off with the pros, like Tony Hawk, who have brought it to the main stream.
