The first skateboarders took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools to mimic the waves of surfing. Not until the 1970’s, the first skate park was made in Southern California. No one knew the skateboard building boom was about to begin. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, like Tony Hawk, who have brought it to the main stream.
