The first skaters took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools to take their surfing to the streets. The World’s first concrete skateboard park was made in California. No one knew the skateboard park boom was about to begin. It was thousands of skateparks that were built in the next years. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, such as Rob Drydek and Shaun White, who have brought it to the main stream.
