Skateboarding is a great sport. The first skateboarders rode down hills in Carlsbad, CA with clay wheels so that they would have an activity to do when the surf wan’t good. The first concrete skateboard park was made in Southern California. No one knew the skateboard building boom was about to begin. It was thousands of skateparks that were built in the next dozen years. Today, there are 2,600 skateboarding parks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, like Tony Hawk, who have brought it to the main stream.
