Skateboarding is a great sport. The first skaters took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools so that they would have an activity to do when the surf wan’t good. Not until the 1970’s, the first skatepark was made in Southern California. Shortly after, the skateboard boom was about to begin. Today, there are more than 2,600 skateboarding parks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, like Tony Hawk, who have brought it to the main stream.
