Skateboarding is a great sport. The first skateboarders rode down hills in Carlsbad, CA with clay wheels so that they would have an activity to do when the surf wan’t good. Not until the 1970’s, the first concrete skateboard park was made in California. Next the skateboard park boom was about to begin. Thousands skate parks that were built in the next years. Today, there are 2,600 skateboarding parks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, like Tony Hawk, who have brought it to the main stream.
