About
The first skaters took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools so that they would have an activity to do when the surf wan’t good. The first skate park was made in Southern California. Shortly after, the skateboard boom was about to begin. Now there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, like Tony Hawk, who have brought it to the main stream.
