Shortly after, the skateboard park boom was about to begin. It was thousands of skate parks that were built in the next few years. Now there are 2,600 skate parks in America. The popularity of skateboarding has taken off with the pros, such as Rob Drydek and Shaun White, who have brought it to the main stream.
