The first skateboarders took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools so that they would have an activity to do when the surf wan’t good. Not until the 1970’s, the first concrete skateboard park was made in Southern California. No one knew the skateboard boom was about to begin. Many skateparks that were built in the next years. Now there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, , who have brought it to the main stream.
