The first skatepark was made in Southern California. Shortly after, the skateboard boom was about to begin. Thousands skate parks that were built in the next twenty years. Now there are more than 2,600 skateboarding parks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, like Tony Hawk, who have brought it to the main stream.
