About Skateboarding
The first skateboarders took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools to mimic the waves of surfing. Not until the 1970’s, the first concrete skateboard park was made in Southern California. Next the skateboard park boom was about to begin. There were a lot of skateparks that were built in the next twenty years. Today, there are 2,600 skate parks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, like Tony Hawk, who have brought it to the main stream.
