The first skaters took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools so that they would have an activity to do when the surf wan’t good. Many years later, the first skate park was made in California. Next the skateboard park boom was about to begin. Now there are more than 2,600 skate parks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, such as Rob Drydek and Shaun White, who have brought it to the main stream.
