About
The first skateboarders took big wooden boards into empty swimming pools to take their surfing to the streets. Many years later, the first concrete skateboard park was made in California. Shortly after, the skateboard boom was about to begin. It was thousands of skateparks that were built in the next few years. Now there are more than 2,600 skateparks in America. Skateboarding has taken off with the pros, like Tony Hawk, who have brought it to the main stream.
